Lechler "FoamWhirly" for cold aseptic filling systems

Cold aseptic filling systems have given rise to new system concepts for disinfecting and sterilising bottles and caps, in cleaning and disinfection technology and in system and machine hygiene.

External disinfection must be performed at regular intervals via a permanently installed nozzle system that is also used for foam cleaning. These processes, known as CIP (Clean in Place) and SIP (Sterilize in Place), ensure that the biological risk is kept to a minimum.

This is an application in which Lechler rotating nozzles running on slide bearings have proved successful. For this, the nozzle type "FoamWhirly" can be configured as both a single rotating nozzle and a cleaning lance with up to 4 rotors. The advantage of the lance solution with rotating cleaners is much less complex piping because it can discharge both foam and water.

The "FoamWhirly" works very reliably in the specified cleaning process. Rotation with both liquid and foam with a constant spraying diameter is ensured. The materials used and the design principle can withstand the resulting vapours. Liquid savings of up to 30% compared with standard systems but with the same cleaning effect are often required.

The Lechler "FoamWhirly" was developed specially for use in cold aseptic filling systems and so meets these demands.
