General Safety Instructions

1. Lechler products may only be used for their intended purpose. Correct use is defined by a product's scope of application as
defined and authorised by the manufacturer and by the manufacturer's instructions regarding permissible operating
conditions - particularly pressure and temperature ranges. The manufacturer's instructions in product brochures, order
documents, operating instructions and on the homepage are binding in this respect. It is essential to follow these
instructions. In all cases, any different use requires approval by the manufacturer. Environmental conditions at the place of
use, for example outside pressure, weather conditions, wind speed, driving speed, temperature or chemical gases can all
have an influence on the properties of Lechler products. This must be borne in mind, and the manufacturer's approval must
be obtained in cases of doubt.

2. The resistance of materials is dependent on many parameters such as the type and concentration of the contact medium,
temperature, pressure, contact duration, flow speed, stress and ageing. This applies particularly to the compatibility of
elastomers (for example seals) with special contact media. The manufacturer's instructions relating to this must be
followed. The suitability of materials must be checked prior to use in each individual case. If possible, but most definitely if
there is any doubt, the manufacturer's approval for use should be obtained and a practical test carried out using the
products in question under original operating conditions. Sufficient and suitable safety precautions must be taken for this.

3. Besides observing these safety instructions, correct use also particularly includes following the manufacturer's instructions
relating to authorised usage, the permissible operating conditions and following the principles of good practice, as well as
the relevant rules and regulations laid down by professional liability insurers' organisations. Legal regulations in special
areas of use must be observed.

In particular, operation and use:
- at pressures and temperatures that do not conform to the manufacturer's instructions
- under extreme environmental conditions at the place of use (without first obtaining the manufacturer's approval for use)
- without paying sufficient attention to the manufacturer's maintenance and cleaning instructions
- in an assembly and installation configuration other than that specified by the manufacturer
- outside the scope of application specified and approved by the manufacturer

are regarded as incorrect.

4. The manufacturer's operating instructions must be followed. These are intended for experts only. The products should only
be used by experts or under the supervision of an expert, and in line with good practice.
Any modifications to our products are the responsibility of the user.

5. A responsible person (or persons) appointed by the user must familiarise the user's installation and operating personnel
with the way in which the Lechler product in question functions and must be handled.
6. The following must first be carried out every time a Lechler product is to be used:
a.) Check that the connections are secure and are not leaking.
b.) Function test
c.) Check the effectiveness of general occupational safety measures, bearing in mind the applicable regulations -
particularly in the case of applications that create a potentially hazardous or explosive atmosphere.

7. Lechler products, particularly nozzles, are subjected to the following types of wear:
a.) chemical
b.) thermal
c.) mechanical
They must therefore be cleaned, checked and - if necessary - replaced regularly in accordance with the conditions of use.
The manufacturer's maintenance and cleaning instructions must be followed. In all instances and within the scope of his
general practical experience with the contact medium, the user has an obligation to clean the nozzles regularly in order to
ensure that they remain fully functional.

8. Never point nozzles and their liquid or gas jets at people!
There is a risk of injury from chemical additives, high temperatures and pressures.
ATTENTION! The spray jet is barely visible in the case of media such as gas, air or vapours. This also applies to
pneumatic atomiser nozzles when small quantities of liquid are sprayed.
The atomisation of media poses a risk of skin contact or inhalation.
When working with compressed air, high-frequency noises and high noise levels can occur that can damage your hearing.
The noise level depends on the shape of the nozzle opening and on the working pressure being used.
People must wear sufficient and suitable protective clothing, breathing apparatus, safety goggles and ear protectors.

9. Suitable tools, preferably recommended by the manufacturer or available to buy, must be used for adjustment, assembly,
disassembly, maintenance and cleaning work.
All supply lines must be depressurised and secured for the purpose of carrying out assembly and disassembly work. All
supply lines and connections must be cleaned before assembly.
